Nissan Ariya Announced

Brought to you by Fred Martin Nissan

Nissan has just announced their newest edition to the crossover line up, and it’s all-electric. That’s right, you read that correctly. The Nissan Ariya will be available for purchase in the United States sometime mid to late 2021 and will mark the first crossover by Nissan to be fully electric.  The interior of this groundbreaking vehicle will have a stylish and luxurious lounge-like ambiance, while the technology will make for a stress-free driving experience with advanced driver-assistance features. The Ariya will have a range of about 300 miles, so your mind can be set at ease during a long commute, or road trip.  Keep reading below to hear more about the Ariya.

Design Features of the Ariya Exterior

Because of the all-new fully electric function, the Nissan Ariya will have a completely reimagined aesthetic that is both stylishly modern and classically timeless.  Taking inspiration from the Japanese term iki, meaning chic, and cutting-edge in nature, the Ariya’s front-facing fascia is dominated by a shield which compliments the sleek design and sports a 3-D traditional Japanese pattern kumiko. This beautiful and stunning aesthetic is not only aesthetically pleasing but highly functional, as it protects the sensor-based technology used for the driving assist aids. Sat in a proud and prominent manor at the center of this aerodynamic shield is the new Nissan logo, made from 20 LED lamps that illuminate the future of Nissan.  Moving around to the back of the Ariya you’ll find the rear of this vehicle is just as breathtaking as the front, as it is specially designed with a steeply raked C-pillar that blends effortlessly into the rear deck.  When the Ariya is parked, the one-piece light blade in the rear will give a blackout effect for impact.  There are six body color options for the Ariya, all working in tandem with a sporty black roof and an additional three full-body paint options.

Step Inside the Ariya

Stepping outside the box again, Nissan has designed the interior of the Ariya to be sleek and smooth to provoke thoughts of performance, and spark intrigue and move away from the traditional aesthetic of an automotive cabin.  The battery of the Ariya sits below the floor, allowing for a spacious and functional use of interior volume due to the nature of the electric-run vehicle, and the EV drivetrain along with sound-absorbing materials allow for a serene cabin giving off more of a lounge-like feel than a car-cabin. The instrument panel inside the Ariya will adorn no buttons, or switches, integrating seamlessly into the dash, and beneath the instrument panel will sit a center storage box and fold-out tray, functioning as a pull-out table when needed, and collapsing back neatly when not needed. This space is echoed throughout the whole vehicle, with both front and rear-seat passengers having ample leg and headroom.

Driver Assist Technology

The Nissan Ariya will be integrated with the newest platform of Nissan driver aids, a system called ProPILOT Assist 2.0, a platform that is an expansion of the already engineered ProPILOT Assist which is found on models such as the Leaf, Rogue, and Rogue Sport.  The ProPILOT Assist 2.0 will allow drivers to actually take their hands away from the wheel if needed, and keep them centered in their own lane under certain conditions. It will use the navigation system to sense different types of roads, speed limits, and make adjustments for optimal driver convenience and handling.  Of course, safety is a huge factor here, so the ProPILOT 2.0 is also working in tandem with the Nissan Safety Shield 360, a safety and security suite that has six main features such as Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking.
