Tips for Your Vehicle’s Exterior

Wash Your Nissan Vehicle Regularly: When you allow dirt and grime to sit on your vehicle it can start to ruin the paint job, making it duller and eroding it all together. Keeping the paint clean and vibrant is easy to do with regular car washes. There are a few ways to wash your vehicle. You can take on the job yourself and bring out the bucket of water, soap, and sponges or you can visit a car wash. Some car washes even offer subscriptions so you can go whenever you want in a predetermined amount of time for one upfront price. Car washes are even more important during the winter months when salt from the road is kicking up and sticking to your vehicle!
Use Products Designed for Vehicles: It is important that you avoid using cleaning products that are not created for cars like household dish soap as it can damage the paint. You also need to make sure that you are using materials that are safe for the car as some things can scratch the paint. Think about grabbing some microfiber or detailing cloths next time you are at the dealership!
Spot Check and Clean Between Washes: There is always going to be that one time that you leave the car wash and the very next day you drive on dirt or muddy road, or its that time of year and the pollen has started to collect on your vehicle, the clean look is gone in an instant. Although cleaning between washes can be tiresome, it is important that you don’t let anything like bird droppings, mud, pollen, or dirt cake on your vehicle for long periods of time as it will eat at the paint job.
Wax Your Vehicle Regularly: There is a clear coating on your vehicle’s paint job that is there to protect it but another layer of protection never hurt anything! Snow, rain, and even the sun can hinder the shine and vibrancy of your vehicle’s paint job over time. To shield the paint job from the elements, wax your vehicle at least two times a year. However, if your vehicle is parked outside and exposed to extreme weather like snow storms and hot summer temperatures, you should wax a few more times a year. Make sure that you are using a wax that is made for your vehicle’s paint type.
