2021 Nissan Rouge vs Toyota RAV4

It’s time to get a new SUV, but which one are you going to get? This can be a difficult question considering there are a ton of makes and models on the market, but we are here to help! Two of the best SUV on the market are the 2021 Nissan Rogue and the Toyota RAV4. Both of these SUVs come with a ton of tech and luxury features and powerful engines, but which one has the upper hand? For the answer, we compared both of these vehicles so you can make a more informed decision. Continue reading for all the information!

2021 Nissan Rogue Power & Handling

All versions of the 2021 Nissan Rouge come with a terrific 2.5-liter four-cylinder that kicks out 181 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. This engine is plenty powerful and can get you to where you want to go with ease. Pairing with this engine is the wonderful continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel-drive. You do get the option for all-wheel-drive, which certainly comes in handy during those cold winter days. This engine is certainly impressive, and we love the optional all-wheel-drive.

2021 Toyota RAV4 Power & Handling

The RAV4, like the Rouge, comes with only one engine. In this case, it’s a four-cylinder engine that also pairs with an automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive comes standard, but like the Rouge, you can also get four-wheel-drive if you choose. If you choose to go with one of the high trims, such as the Adventure or the TRD off-road, you get the four-wheel-drive standard.

2021 Nissan Rogue Features & Design

There are four trim levels available for the Nissan Rogue, and they are come packed to the brim with a ton of available features. Starting things off is the S trim, which comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, two USB ports, and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also standard is Nissan’s Safety Shield, which has forward collision mitigation, rear-cross traffic alert, and rear automatic braking. Next is the SV, which builds on the S with 18-inch wheels, remote engine start, keyless entry and ignition, a wi-fi hotspot, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Several options are available for the SV, including a panoramic sunroof, power liftgate, and heated front seats. If you’re looking for a ton of luxury features, the SL has you covered with heated mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, driver-seat memory settings, leather upholstery, and a dual-panel cargo floor. You also get the option of a 9-inch touchscreen and Wireless Apple CarPlay. The highest trim is the Platinum, which brings amazing features such as heated rear seats, a wireless charging pad, and a digital instrument panel.

2021 Toyota RAV4 Features & Design

While the Toyota RAV4 may come with six trims, it has fewer features than what the Rouge offers. The base trim is the LE, which has LED headlights, a 7-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Next is the XLE, which adds keyless entry and ignition, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and additional USB charging ports. The XLE has premium and luxury variants that add larger wheels, a slightly raised suspension, a sunroof, and a power liftgate. If you’re looking to take your RAV4 off-road, the RAV4 TRD Off-road has fender flairs, hill descent control, trailer roof rails, all-terrain tires, and an off-road-tuned suspension. The highest trim is the Limited, which brings chrome exterior trim, heated front seats, an 8-inch touchscreen, and a navigation system.

Conclusion:

For us, the winner is clear; there is nothing that compares to the 2021 Nissan Rouge. The Rouge has a wonderfully powerful engine and several more features in its four trim levels than the RAV4’s six.
