2021 Nissan Armada vs Chevy Tahoe

When you’re in the market for a new SUV, it can be an exciting but confusing time. There are so many makes and models out there to choose from and with so many engine options and trim levels with tons of features, making it difficult to decide which one is best for you and your family. This is where we at Fred Martin Nissan come in! This article will compare two of the most popular SUVs on the market in the Nissan Armada and the Chevy Tahoe. Both of these SUVs come with spectacular engine choices and features, but which one had the advantage? For the answer, continue reading!

2021 NissanArmadaPower & Handling

All versions of the Armada come with a powerful 5.6-liter V8 engine that kicks out an impressive 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque which pairs nicely with a smooth-sailing seven-speed automatic transmission. You can up the power to 400 horses and 413 lb-ft of torque if you go with the 93 octane fuel. Rear-wheel-drive comes standard on all trims, but you do have the option of four-wheel-drive if you choose. The four-wheel-drive will come in handy, especially during those cold Ohio winters!

2021 Chevy Tahoe Power & Handling

There are three available engines for the Chevy Tahoe, and there is a decent amount of power to be had on each. Standard on most trim levels is a 5.3-liter V8 that delivers 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque and pairs with an automatic transmission. When you move up to the High Country trim, you get a 6.2-liter V8. Optional on all trims is a diesel-powered and turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder, which pairs with the automatic transmission. Four-wheel-drive is an available option for all trims. We like the power on these engines, but the Armada’s one engine is more powerful than the Tahoes three.

2021 Nissan Armada Features & Design

There are three trim levels available for the Armada, and each one has an impressive amount of features. The SV has 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, roof rails, heated mirrors, keyless ignition and entry, front and rear parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, and heated front seats. Tech features include an 8-inch touchscreen and a 13-speaker Bose audio system. There is also a driver package with a power liftgate, foglights, a power-folding third-row seat, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Moving up to the SL adds 20-inch wheels, automatic wipers, auto-dimming outside mirrors, remote engine start, front step lighting, a power-adjustable steering wheel, driver-seat memory functions, and leather upholstery. Optional is a Premium Package with a sunroof, rear automatic emergency automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Last but not least is the Platinum with rear step lighting, a windshield wiper de-icer, ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, leather door trim, and arear-seat entertainment system.

2021 Chevy Tahoe Features & Design

There are six trim levels available for the Chevy Tahoe, and there are a few fascinating features to be found on each. The first trim is the LS which comes with LED headlights, 18-inch wheels, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and forward collision mitigation. Moving up to the LT mixes in a hands-free liftgate, wireless charging pad, leather upholstery, driver-seat memory settings, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The RST brings in more interesting features such as 22-inch wheels, black exterior trim, and a unique front fascia. Higher trims come with more premium equipment such as all-terrain tires, hill descent control, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, heated and ventilated seats, head-up display, rear pedestrian alert system, and a surround-view parking system.

Conclusion:

For us, the choice is clear, the 2021 Nissan Armada wind hands down. We love the powerful engine the Armada comes with, and its three trim levels offer you more than the six that the Tahoe has.
