2020 Nissan Altima vs Honda Accord

Getting your next vehicle doesn’t have to be a difficult task that you have to endure. At Fred Martin Nissan, our goal is to make the process as pain-free as possible! We do this by helping you narrow down the options that are out there on the market today. With the sedan segment, we have narrowed it down to the 2020 Nissan Altima and the 2020 Honda Accord. The Altima works hard to impress with an efficient standard engine, Safety Shield 360 driver-assistance available on the S trim, and even a standard rear-seat reminder system. The Accord hasn’t added in anything new for 2020, mostly sticking with a comfortable ride, standard driver assists, and an available manual transmission. Keep reading to find out which of these sedans we recommend the most.

2020 Nissan Altima Power & Handling

Two engines are available with the 2020 Altima! The base configuration here is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, which can produce around 180 pound-feet of torque and up to 188 horsepower. Standard with this engine is a continuously variable transmission, which powers the front wheels. There is an all-wheel drive option here, which is especially useful if you are at all worried about poor weather environments and want some added traction. The other available engine here is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, which can pump out 248 horsepower and up to 273 pound-feet of torque.

2020 Honda Accord Power & Handling

There are two engines offered with the 2020 Accord. Front-wheel drive is standard here, and all-wheel drive is not available, no matter the engine. The base engine is a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder, which offers up to 192 pound-feet of torque and around 192 horsepower. The other available engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, which cranks out 273 pound-feet of torque and 252 horsepower. The base engine uses a CVT automatic, although it is also offered with a six-speed manual.
